I did a photo shoot for the girls at Charlotte Lane, it went a little something like this...

Wildlife and women are both endangered species.

Over time, we have seen the feminine instinctive nature looted, driven back and overbuilt. For long periods it has been mismanaged like the wildlife and wildlands. For several thousand years, as soon and as often as we turn out backs, it is relegated to the poorest land in the psyche. The spiritual lands of the Wild Women have, throughout history, been plundered or burnt, dens bulldozed and natural cycles forced into unnatural rhythms to please others.

It's not by accident that the pristine wilderness of our planet appearss as the understanding of our own inner wild nature fades. It is not so difficult to comprehend why old forests and old women are viewed as not very important resources. It is not such a mystery. It is not so coincidental that wolves and coyotes bears and wildish women have similar reputations.

Rather than chairs and tables I preferred the ground and trees, and caves for in those place i felt i could lean against the check of god.

These words are not my own but exerts from the book .... Women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola .... a book that should be read by all women.

I've been awfully quiet on here lately. Life has been a little hectic. I'm trying not to be so busy, to let the light in. To bask in the last of these summer days. I finished a book yesterday. It finished with the lead character floating in the ocean, speaking of how wonderful it was. I thought of how glorious it sounded. Then I remembered that i could do that - so i did. I went to he ocean and swam out beyond the breakers. I floated until goosebumps covered my body and my fingers started to turn blue. I was cold but it was ok because it was just so damn beautiful.

I just started out on my own. A year of working for a big company seemed to be enough so I've gone solo and started my own company and how crazy has it been. Stressful: of course. Exciting: yes. Scary; sometimes. But that's all part of the adventure, right.

It has been a step learning curve! Tax returns and pitch meetings being something i'm not so sure on but  I'm growing and learning each step of the way.  There are moments when i question if it was the right decision and some when i know i'm on the right path. I guess what i'm trying to say is take the leap, if theres something you wanted to try, do it. Whatever happens you'll be alright and you're far more likely to regret the things you didn't try than the one's you did.

As for me, my business is George Media, a boutique online marketing agency. It's been a few months and it's going ok. I'm not a millionaire but I'm having fun and that's more important anyway.

Seasonal Eating. I'm not sure why, but it's just never really crossed my mind. When you really think about it, it makes complete sense.
It's healthier, cheaper and guarantees you get a varied diet throughout the year. If you are eating seasonal produce you’re more likely to be supporting local growers and the environmental impact, caused by the transportation of out of season fruit and vegetables from overseas, will be decreased. So the question is; why not.

At the moment i'm loving asparagus with poached eggs, avocado on everything :toast, salads and asian inspired stir fry's. Below is a list of what’s in season this October and November.
Vegetables
Artichokes, Asparagus, Avocadoes, Broad Beans, Beetroot, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Courgette, Cucumber, Garlic, Kumara, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Onions, Parsnips, Potatoes, Radishes, Silver Beet, Spinach, Sprouts and Watercress
Fruit
Lemons, Grapefruit, Pears, Rhubarb, Tamarillo and Tangelos
Or just take a stroll around your local farmers market. Happy eating x

Of mountains and yoga.

As the chill in the air subsides and the snow recedes up the mountains, Spring moves in making way for flowers to bloom and the sun to shine. I've taken to going for walks and breathing the fresh air, I steal flowers along the way sometimes. There's something about having flowers and plants inside that makes it feel a little nicer.
